The Edgewater prides itself for being on the edge of everything. That includes being a mere few blocks from one of Philadelphia’s premiere family friendly museums. The Franklin Institute, a short walk from the Edgewater is host of a number of science and history based showcases, including visits of National and International exhibits.
One of those National exhibits currently on display at The Franklin Institute is the Lost Egypt: Ancient Secrets, Modern Science exhibit. This family friendly exhibit focuses on the scientific breakthroughs in decoding the mysterious ancient Egyptian culture. This is a fun opportunity to discover the technological and historical advances of modern day archaeology, and its all happening only a short distance from your home here at The Edgewater.
The Lost Egypt hosts a number of within the highlights, including an ancient tomb re-creation, an interactive dig site, a hands on group pyramid building activity, an area to reconstruct ancient pottery, an up close encounter with an authentic mummy and many more hidden treasures.
Only here for summer, The Lost Egypt Exhibit is now entering its final weeks here in Philly, officially ending August 28th. Bring your little archaeologists out for some hands on discovery and fun.
