Labor Day weekend is upon us there are plenty of fun events happening around The Edgewater Community.
The evening of Thursday, September 1st will be another much anticipated Philly Night Market. Organized by The Food Trust, you will be able to enjoy more than 50 food trucks and neighborhood restaurant stands on the closed-down blocks of Front and Snyder streets. While there, enjoy a free, live performance from West Philly rapper Chill Moody as you dine al fresco. Come early and come hungry as this will be one of the final Philadelphia Night Markets.
Enjoy a weekend trip to The RiverRink Summerfest. The Summerfest includes an urban beach, mini-golf at $5/person each game, and a huge outdoor roller skating rink. Admission to the rink is $3 (or free if you are an Independence Blue Cross cardholder) and rental for roller skates and in-line skates for $10 a pair. RiverRink Summerfest is located at 101 S. Columbus Blvd and ends for the season on September 5th.
Finally, use Sunday to take in some culture during The Barnes Foundation during their Free Sunday museum admission and activities. Arrive early to guarantee your admission and enjoy the afternoon admiring national treasures in your own home town. The Barnes Foundation is located at 2025 Ben Franklin Parkway, just a short walk away from your apartment.
With all of these activities within 20 minutes from the Edgewater, skip the traffic on the highways and spend the the last unofficial weekend of summer not too far from your apartment.
