A short walk from the Edgewater is one of Philly’s favorite’s spots for a slice.
Pete’s Pizza, located at 116 N. 21st Street, has been a Philly favorite since they opened in 1980. Featured on the Food Network On TheRoad, Pete’s has been serving and delivering “hot stuff to go”, a phrase they are well known for, for over 35 years.
Pete’s is not your basic pizzeria, however. While you will get the typical fries, wings, and mozzarella sticks, Pete’s also offers an awesome hummus platter and Greek Fries with olive oil, feta, and Tzatziki. And that’s just the starters. Pete’s stromboli is the things of legend, being the dish even Food Network had to gush about.
As far as the pizza goes, Pete’s customizes your ideal slice with 38 different toppings, including 9 different cheeses and 13 different meats. They are not just known for their pizzas. Pete’s also serves up a mean breakfast, offering all of the expected dishes of a dinner, but with a Greek flair. (Effie’s Greek Omelet is to die for.)
Crave a little variety or a surprise? Pete’s offers both a Pizza and a Beer of the month so you can sample a variety of brews and bites.
Pete’s is open every day, Monday through Thursday from 7am to 11pm, Friday and Saturday from 8am to midnight, and Sunday from 8am to 11pm. So take that five minute walk from the Edgewater and enjoy a serious Philly institution in Pete’s Pizza.
