March 1st, 2017
Just a ten-minute walk from The Edgewater Apartments is the Parkway Central Library, which is a great resource of the Free Library of Philadelphia no matter what month it is. It just so happens that March is Women’s History Month, and this public library has a lot of worthwhile events planned that are perfect for learning about, supporting, and celebrating women. What’s even better is that many of them are free or extremely inexpensive.
Already announced for the library’s March schedule are a number of discussions with female authors, including a free lecture with Camille Paglia on her work Free Women, Free Men: Sex, Gender, Feminism on March 13th that’s sure to provoke thought. Also, offered through the library are several workshops made for women like “Managing Menopause: A Holistic Diet” on March 6th and “Disrupting the Patriarchy 2017: Negotiating and Getting Things Done” on March 8th. Check out the events section on their website for a full list of everything they offer this month.
