Philly Pies for Pi Day

March 14th is a great day for sugar lovers and nerds alike. It’s Pi Day, and while we can’t tell you much about the number, we do know the best spots to grab a slice of pie in Philadelphia. We can’t think of a better reason to venture outside of your cozy apartment at the Edgewater than for a delicious piece of pie.

Magpie Artisan Pie Boutique – Less than a 15-minute drive from the Edgewater, this cozy little South Street storefront leaves nothing to be desired when it comes to pie. The vintage inspired decor is complimented by an extensive menu of artisan pies, both sweet and savory. A true boutique of crust and filling, this is the best possible spot we could imagine celebrating Pie Day!

Flying Monkey Bakery – You can expect all sorts of amazing sweet treats when you visit this unique bakery on 12th street. With brownies, cookies, cakes, pies, breakfast, bars, and pastries, Flying Monkey has something for everyone. They are known for their whoopie pies, and even make a cake that has a pie right inside it. Could there be a more fitting dessert for the holiday than pie cake? We don’t think so.

The Baker’s Jar – This hip and fun bakery on 16th street is known for baking and serving the majority of their menu items in a mason jar. While it may sound like a gimmick, The Baker’s Jar has the flavor to match their awesome packaging. We recommend the apple crumb pie in a jar!
