We’ve all heard the cliché that April showers bring May flowers. For those of us who want don’t want to leave it all to nature and get a little more involved in springtime blooms, living in the city can be a drag. Not at Edgewater Apartments, though. Residents are lucky enough to be super close to several floral and gardening opportunities. Whether you are looking to take a walk through some well-loved gardens, start your own planting, or just pick up fresh cut flowers for your Bozzuto Apartment, there’s something in the neighborhood perfect for your needs.
Schuylkill River Park Community Garden- Less than a fifteen-minute walk from Edgewater, residents can stroll through one of the city’s oldest and most beloved community gardens. Originally opened in 1982, the Schuylkill River Park Community Garden consists of 70 plots that can be leased to local center city resident gardeners. The garden frequently hosts events and while obtaining a plot can be difficult, it’s not impossible and there are other fun planting opportunities available to those with a green thumb.
Fairmount Hardware- For residents in need of gardening supplies at great prices, Fairmount Hardware is a true neighborhood staple. The store’s incredibly large selection makes finding everything you need a breeze no matter the size of your project. Even if you don’t need anything, the storefronts bright and cheery sidewalk displays are worth a walk by.
Flowers & Company- This trendy local florist boutique is a go-to for beautiful arrangements. Independently owned, Flowers & Company has made quite a name for themselves as one of the area’s favorite places to get flowers and gifts. It’s only a five-minute drive from Edgewater Apartments.
