March 22nd, 2018
Snuggling puppies is fun to do anywhere—but it’s especially exciting when you can do it against the backdrop of the Philadelphia skyline!
On March 24, get ready for an eye-opening experience, as One Liberty Observation Desk hosts its first-ever pet-adoption event with Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society. The sky-high observation deck, six blocks from your Edgewater apartment, features 360-degree views of the entire City of Brotherly Love, from a jaw-dropping 57 stories high.
The views of the city will be inspiring—but so will those inside the “Adopt from the Top” event! PAWS will be bringing along adoptable dogs to celebrate National Puppy Day, and some feline friends will also tag along. Guests can get to know the pets, learn about their histories, talk with PAWS staff and foster parents about any issues or concerns—and ultimately decide if they can give them a furever home.
PAWS is the city’s largest recue organization, saving thousands of pets every year. It operates three no-kill shelters, and a robust foster-care network that lets dogs and cats waiting for their new humans do so in a stress-free environment where they can work on behavioral issues and socializing. PAWS also operates a low-cost clinic to help pet owners of all financial capabilities to give their four-legged friends high-quality medical care.
Even if you’re not sure you’re ready to commit to a new furry companion, the event will offer information about how to support PAWS, including through volunteer work and foster care. PAWS will also collect donation items to help support the pooches and cats in its care, including blankets, leashes and toys. If you can’t make the event, One Liberty Observation Deck will be collecting donations for PAWS throughout March.
