Where to Wind Down at Philly Wine Week

Everyone’s favorite week is back! Philly Wine Week has returned, April 1-7, at dozens of restaurants and bars throughout the area, including many near your Edgewater apartment. Philly Wine Week celebrates all things wine, with a series of events that are part educational, part entertainment—and all tasty! Each participating venue structures its own Wine Week celebration and they are as diverse as Philly’s wine scene—wine-focused trivia nights, tastings and pairings, discounts and deals, and workshops to help you deepen your wine knowledge.

Here are a few of the 2019 participants just minutes from your Edgewater apartment—so you can indulge without worrying about commuting home!

Walnut Street Café: This casual yet chic café located six blocks from your Edgewater apartment serves an impressively diverse range of international wines. French, Italian, Portuguese and American selections populate its lengthy wine list, with offerings by the glass or, if you really want to indulge, choose from among nearly 150 different bottles.

Gran Caffe: One mile from your Edgewater apartment, Gran Caffe features an authentic Italian experience—complete with wine, of course! This is certainly the place to bring a date for Philly Wine Week, with its cozy, romantic atmosphere and menu to match. No Italian meal is complete without wine, and Gran Caffe delivers—with nearly 300 choices!

Tinto: From famed Philly restauranteur Jose Garces, Tinto is a must-see for both drinks and food. The tapas bar and restaurant serves small plates from the Basque region of Spain, with a wine menu from the same area, adding some unique tastes and influences to your Wine Week festivities. If you want to really stretch you dollar, visit from 5-7 p.m. on weekdays for Tinto’s happy hour, featuring $5 tapas and sangria cocktails, as well as $7 wines.
